It is a great experience for any cadet to join and make friends. The unarmed drill team is full of people who try their.
Our armed regulation drill team is one of our most active teams. Armed drill team members use rifles while our commander uses a sword, unlike unarmed drill where neither are present. This team teaches our cadets meticulous attention to detail and how to act as one team. We compete in drill competitions with in our area to qualify for area Semi-finals and Nationals. Our goal is to place top two at Semi-finals and make it to Nationals in the next two to three years.
The Unarmed exhibition team put a creative twist on unarmed basic drill. The team comes up with a creative way to execute unarmed basic movements. We practice before school at 0700 in order to get the most practice in as possible. We participate in the Area 9 qualifiers as well as Semi-finals in Oklahoma City. Our goal is to participate in Nationals at Pensacola, Florida.
The armed exhibition team selects the best of the best from the armed regulation team, but also selects from outside other teams as well. Armed exhibition team is a team that performs at the semi-national level. We perform at school events and trips we go on. Armed exhibition is a great team to be on if you want to show your talent with a rifle and others.
Air rifle is a group of extraordinary individuals. Each person brings their own type of strengths to the team to for a team with an unbreakable bond. Our goal is to one day place in nationals, and every practice that we do brings us one step close to our overall goal. Each of the team members including myself has had their problems, but nonetheless we have powered through and are doing better than we’ve had in previous years.
The athletics team is open to everyone and is one of the fundamental teams that make up the Bearden NJROTC. We are hardworking and dedicated to improving ourselves so that we may be physically fit. Athletics is also a starting point for anyone who wants to be on the Semper Fi team. We do this so that we can monitor them and see the improvement that has been made from year to year.
Color guard is a four cadet team that although they’re small, that doesn’t lower their importance. What the Color Guard team consists of is an American flag, a Tennessee flag (interchangeable), and then two rifles. We compete in competitions just as any other team, and this year we achieved first place at qualifiers. Not only do we do competitions though, upon request we will present the colors at any event ranging between a NCAA UT game to honoring a fallen veteran at their funeral. Color guard is truly a fun and honorable team to be a part of.
The Academics Team is the competitive academic element of the Bearden NJROTC. Participating in events such as Brain Brawl and the National Academic Exam, our main goal is placing in events and furthering our academic knowledge. Some of our accomplishments are placing first in the Central Drill Meet and second in the Bearden qualifier. It is also the responsibility of the academic commander to coordinate tests for individual drill meets.
The drone team is a great team. It is a lot of fun. We fly drones every week, and we have one or two competitions each semester. It is a small team and is one of the teams that has the least events, so if you don’t have a ton of time to spend with teams, the drone team would be a good team for you. Also, if you pass a test, you get to wear something on your uniform that not many other cadets get to wear.
