Showing up to unit and community service events not only give you valuable service hours to put towards advancement or ribbons, but they also show your willingness to sacrifice your time for the good of the unit and the community.
It is recommended that you obtain 40 unit service hours and 15 community service hours in a year.

- Bearden’s teams are composed of the best cadets in the whole company. Joining a team will advance your knowledge in naval science, improve your drill skills, and provide you with an opportunity to interact with senior cadets and staff members.
Additionally, participation on teams shows your ability to make a commitment to the unit.

- Classroom/Event Involvement
Your enthusiasm for participating in the program is observed by the senior staff.
This is in both classroom instruction (academics, physical training, or drill) and events like parades or the Death March.
To better your chances, always be excited and look forward to any event, no matter how tired or frustrated you might feel.
Additionally, always behave professionally and constantly remain in good behavior.
Never complain or misbehave!
